So Martin took one for the team. Actually a few boys did, Martin being one of them. The game was on Monday night against the Rangers. Many boys had been up to bat and actually gotten on base but some of them got there from a hit to the body unfortunately. It was the 4th inning and the score was 4-3 in their favor. Martin got up to bat again and we knew he needed to make it home. He steals to second then to third and then the catcher misses the ball and off he goes. Slide and SAFE!! The score was then tied up we needed one more. At this point we are in the 5th inning. A boy named Josh gets on first he steals then steals again. And once again the ball was missed so he was off. SAFE!! We won the game by 1 point. YIPPY!!!
So here's the picture from that night. He was pretty sore for most of the game since this happened on his first up but he toughed it out.
I also wanted to mention that in the game on the previous Thursday Martin got to try out his pitching skills for the first time. He managed to pitch about 12 pitches and in those got 2 outs. One being a strike out the other was thrown out at first. We cant wait for the next opportunity.
